A cool breeze brushes your face, and spring greening tickles your nostrils. You step lightly and feel as though you may take flight any moment. The world is open and you’re ready for the journey. Your courage will see you through change and afford you new opportunities.

That’s what it feels like when you ‘know in your knower’ that God loves you. The Bible calls it “being rooted and grounded in love.” (Ephesians 3:17)

Let’s explore the scriptures with a focus on having that love resonate from our core being. Knowing in our core that God loves us is the anchor that enables us to go out and explore new adventures and new possibilities. It also enables us to better deal with difficult circumstances, rejection and setbacks. Even if we occasionally let doubt creep into our thinking, we will quickly come back to trusting God in the assurance that He loves us.

A life lived in God’s love is freedom, fullness and an appreciation for His guidance. Learning to think and act like Christ empowers us to live more abundantly.

 

 

Hello!

My name is Lana H. Jackson. I am a writer who is passionate about the Word of God and the power of story to enrich our lives. Story is all around us in the beauty of God’s creation, and being outdoors in the fresh air is my favorite place. Nature is God’s power point presentation. He created the universe with words and His creation illustrates His Word beautifully.

My best friend and husband, Reni Jackson, and I have been married since 1994. We live in Louisville, Kentucky, and we like to travel. My trusty camera goes everywhere with me.

The first ten years of our marriage, Reni and I owned a farm, complete with a vegetable garden, chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, horses and donkeys. And for about a month we boarded our neighbor’s calf. The wonder of all those baby animals coming into this world, coupled with the births of our two granddaughters, shouted of the miracles of God.

 

Reni and I frequently travel the back roads of Kentucky, exploring side trails and relishing the unexpected appearance of a wild creature. Picnics by a lake delight us with the antics of ducks and geese, the cheerful songs of birds, and the throaty crock of a toad hiding in the weeds. Reading good books amidst God’s orchestra adds an extra dimension of sensory delight to the story.

What I Believe

Jesus is the only begotten Son of God who died on the Cross for our sins. He was raised from the dead on the third day and lives eternally. The Holy Spirit dwells on Earth in the hearts of believers to guide and empower us to live as Christ. The Upper Room experience of being Baptized in the Holy Spirit is available to believers today.

 

Experience and Education

In the 30 years I have been a Christian, I have made some good choices, and I have made some bad choices. Thanks to God for redeeming those bad choices. Since 2009, I have focused on personal study of Bible Scriptures. Before that I was president of Louisville Christian Writers for four years and a leader of Women’s Bible Study small groups for five years. In the mid-80’s, I taught Primary Sunday School children ages 5-8 for five years.

I have a background in business and am a retired Program Coordinator from Kentucky State Government. I’ve taken classes at Louisville Bible College, University of Louisville, and Sullivan University. I am a graduate of Sullivan Business College. Currently, I’m a student of the Institute of Children’s Literature with a focus on writing Children’s Fiction.

 

We all have a story, the story of our lives. Some stories contain more disappointment, trauma and setbacks than others. But all stories are redeemable. The Bible is God’s story of His Love for you and me. Let’s search the scriptures together and discover the “width and length and depth and height” of God’s Love for us. (Ephesians 3:18)

Getting His Love and His Word on the inside of us will allow Him to write our future story, “above all that we could ask or think.” (Ephesians 3:20)

As we mature and become more secure in God’s Love and have more of His Word on the inside, we become like a “tree planted by the water.” (Psalm 1:3) – steady, secure and bearing good fruit.
